The structure is an 8-meter white concrete cylindrical post that rises from a single-story equipment room. It emits a green flash every four seconds and has a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. The original lighthouse was replaced around 2015 with a similar design. The lighthouse site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This light is essential for the safe entry of vessels into Aburatsu Port, specifically marking the western inner breakwater. Its green flash provides a critical navigational aid for local fishing boats and commercial ships.
