Typhoon Dolphin closed in on China's eastern coast Sunday, with Zhejiang Province in its direct path. That is the same coastal region where MSC Silvana VIII has been stuck since mid-July, partly submerged after salvage crews failed to pull it free.

The 8,401-teu containership ran aground in the Zhoushan ship repair area when Typhoon Bavi swept through Zhejiang last month. Crews pulled out around 3,000 tonnes of fuel from the wreck. But refloating failed. The stern went under, and then the engine room and several cargo holds flooded.

According to Splash247, the salvage now faces another weather threat from Dolphin, the year's 13th Pacific typhoon. The storm hit Okinawa before tracking toward the mainland. China closed ports ahead of its arrival, NBC News reported.
