About Yuwengdao Lighthouse
A white, round metal tower stands 11 meters tall, with its light positioned 61 meters above sea level. This structure, built in 1778, emits two white flashes every 30 seconds, visible for 25 nautical miles. The lighthouse also operates a foghorn, sounding one blast every 30 seconds, with the blast lasting 3 seconds and the silence 27 seconds. The tower itself is 36 meters high.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is the oldest in Taiwan.
