Built in 1988, Yāntáishan Lighthouse is a 50-meter concrete structure in China's Shandong Province. The 12-sided tower includes a lantern, gallery, and a 12-sided observation room. Its light, at a focal height of 80 meters, is white with a flash every 9 seconds (Fl W 9s). The station has a light range of 22.6 nautical miles. It stands near Zhifu District, 11.1 kilometers from the port of Yantai.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the harbour entrance for Yantai and offers navigation aid along the coast.
