About Vodarevu Lighthouse

The Vodarevu Lighthouse, built in 2002, stands 30 meters tall with a focal height of 34 meters. It features a cylindrical concrete tower painted with black and white horizontal bands, topped with a lantern and a double gallery. This structure emits a white light with two flashes every 15 seconds, visible for 16 nautical miles. Its development marked a significant advancement as the first lighthouse in India constructed using slip-form techniques, a method that accelerated its completion. The lighthouse is situated in Andhra Pradesh, near Vodarevu port, which is under development southeast of Chirala.
