The Stella Maris light, constructed in 1949, is situated on a detached breakwater marking the north entry to Concepción del Uruguay's harbor. The tower, built of masonry, has a cylindrical form and measures 12 meters in height. Its light is set at a focal plane of 14 meters. The illumination consists of a single white flash repeating every 4 seconds, with a visibility reach of 11.6 nautical miles. The light source is mounted on a post positioned behind a statue of Stella Maris, the patron saint of sailors, with the post and statue located on top of the tower. This light took the place of a previous cast iron lighthouse.
