About South Sand Bluff Lighthouse
This white concrete tower stands 75 meters tall with a focal height of 75 meters. It features a round shape and a red lantern room. The original 21-meter lattice tower was erected in 1931 and subsequently replaced by the current structure. The lighthouse emits a white flash on a 10-second cycle, offering a geographic range of 18 nautical miles. It is situated near the Mzikaba River mouth.
Why it matters: The current concrete tower replaced a lattice tower built in 1931.
