About Sakarya Province Lighthouses Lighthouse
A barbell-shaped lighthouse constructed from brick stands at the eastern edge of the Sakarya River entrance. Built in 2020, this 9-meter-tall tower is painted white with a singular narrow black horizontal band. It emits a white flash every three seconds, visible for 10 nautical miles. The original skeletal tower was replaced around 2020. The site is accessible to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse aids navigation at the Sakarya River's mouth, a location supporting regional shipping and fishing activities.
