About Rio Dos Flamingos Lighthouse
The Rio Dos Flamingos lighthouse, built and first lit in 1967, is a 66-meter tall cylindrical concrete tower. Its construction includes a white metal framework and it is painted with vertical yellow and white stripes. The structure is 11 meters high and includes a keeper's house. Its light emits three white flashes every 15 seconds, visible for 26 nautical miles from a focal height of 110 meters. This light is situated high on a bluff, approximately 1.2 km inland from the coast.
