About Port Elizabeth Breakwater Lighthouse
This concrete tower, measuring 16 meters in height and focal plane, stands 14 nautical miles. It emits two very quick red flashes every 6 seconds. The structure is cylindrical and painted white, featuring a gallery and an attached equipment cabinet. The lighthouse was refurbished in 2008. Its foghorn emits a complex pattern of blasts and silences over a 30-second cycle.
