About Piram Island Lighthouse
The Piram Island Lighthouse, built in 1865, is a cylindrical masonry structure standing 89 meters tall. Its tower features distinctive horizontal black and white bands and rises from a two-story circular base. The light itself is positioned 42 meters above sea level and emits two white flashes every 10 seconds. The lighthouse was repaired following a fire in 1928 and also underwent extensive rebuilding in 1965. It is equipped with AIS and a RACON signal.
