First lit in 1825, the Peristeres Lighthouse stands on a rocky islet near the northeastern tip of Kérkyra. The current cylindrical stone tower, built in 1872, measures 10 meters in height and is unpainted. It is attached to a single-story stone keeper's cottage. The focal height of the light is 23 meters, and it emits a red flash every five seconds, visible for 13.8 nautical miles. This station marks the entrance to the channel between Kérkyra and the Albanian mainland. The lighthouse remains operational, though the keeper's cottage is in ruins.
