About Nazaré South Mole Lighthouse
This concrete, cylindrical tower, standing 6 meters tall, was first lit in 2014. It is painted with green and white horizontal bands and displays a green light. The light flashes green once every 5 seconds and has a geographic range of 10 nautical miles. The focal height of the light is 9 meters. This structure is situated on the north breakwater of Nazaré harbor.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the end of the south mole, guiding vessels into the harbor and ensuring safe passage past the Atlantic swells.
