The Mullaittivu Lighthouse, operational from around 1896, stood on Sri Lanka's northeast coast. Its white light flashed once every 10 seconds, with a focal height of 20 meters providing a geographic range of 13.2 nautical miles. This structure served as a navigational aid for vessels in the vicinity of the nearest port, Trincomalee, which is located 50 kilometers away. The lighthouse was destroyed during the civil war, between 1996 and 1997, and no longer exists.
