About Mibya Kyun Lighthouse
The Mibya Kyun lighthouse is a white, square masonry tower standing 31 meters tall. Completed in 1883, it was first lit in the same year. The structure features a round lantern room at its summit. Its light emits a single white flash every 5 seconds. The focal height of the light is 94 meters above sea level, providing a geographic range of 12 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the western side of the entrance to the Tavoy estuary in southern Myanmar.
