Manora Breakwater Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Manora Breakwater Lighthouse
The Manora Breakwater lighthouse is a triangular skeletal tower constructed of steel, standing 13 meters tall. Its focal plane reaches 15 meters above sea level, and it emits a white flash every 8 seconds. This structure marked the end of the original west breakwater at Manora Point, near Karachi. A new, longer breakwater was built nearby between 2012 and 2013, leading to the light's inactivation. The tower was still visible in 2021, a remnant of its past function.
Why it matters: The lighthouse originally marked the old west breakwater at Manora Point, guiding vessels into Karachi Port.
