About Mandili Lighthouse
Also known as: Mandili (Mandiloú)
The Mandili Lighthouse, built in 1925, is a 10-meter-tall cylindrical concrete tower. Its lantern and gallery sit atop the structure, which is connected to a single-story keeper's house. Situated on an island off the southeastern coast of Euboea, it overlooks the entrance to the Kolpós Petalion. This waterway separates southern Euboea from the Attic peninsula. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 20 seconds, visible for 23 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for mariners entering the Kolpós Petalion, warning them of the island's presence and facilitating safe passage into the gulf.
