Liváda Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Liváda Lighthouse
Constructed in 1910, the Liváda Lighthouse is a 10-meter-high cylindrical stone tower. It stands 41 meters above sea level at the end of a narrow promontory on Tinos's northeastern corner. The lighthouse complex includes a lantern and gallery atop the tower, attached to a one-story stone keeper's house. Despite facing years of neglect and poor condition by 2005 and again in 2017, evidence of repairs by 2007 suggests ongoing efforts. By 2021, the structure had been restored to good condition. The site is accessible to the public, though the tower remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the northeastern corner of Tinos, guiding vessels navigating the Aegean Sea and helping them avoid the island's coastline.
