This lighthouse, constructed in 1861, stands 14 meters tall on a basaltic peak at Pointe de la Caravelle, on the eastern coast of Martinique. Its focal height reaches 129 meters above sea level. The structure emits three white flashes every 15 seconds, visible for a geographic range of 22 nautical miles. Automated in 1970, it is no longer attended by keepers. The lighthouse is situated on a peninsula that is now a nature reserve within the regional natural park of Martinique.
