La Toma Ensenada Lighthouse

This square concrete tower, standing 18 meters tall, is located at the end of a pier in Ensenada, approximately 10 km southeast of Buenos Aires. It displays a white light with a single flash every 6 seconds, visible for 13 nautical miles. The structure is unpainted concrete. Although often referred to as a water tower, its primary function is maritime navigation. The lighthouse remains operational but is not open to the public.

Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for local navigation within the port of Ensenada, assisting ships maneuvering near the pier and contributing to the safety of maritime operations southeast of Buenos Aires. Its unusual designation as a water tower despite its apparent lack of such function makes it a curious landmark.
