The Ákra Sépia Lighthouse is a 14-meter-high square tower constructed from rubblestone. Its light is situated 105 meters above sea level. The tower includes a lantern and gallery and connects to an adjacent one-story masonry keeper's house. Located on a cape approximately 8 kilometers northeast of Platania, the lighthouse emits a white light with a characteristic of Fl W 20s. Its visibility extends to a distance of 25.4 nautical miles. Access to the site is permitted, though entry into the tower is restricted.
Why it matters: This light marks the entryway to the channel separating the Greek mainland from Skiathos island.
