About Khowr-e Minab Lighthouse
This square skeletal tower stands 10 meters tall, emitting a white light with a single flash every 3 seconds. It is located in the marshlands leading to Minab, a fishing port on the northeast side of the Strait of Hormuz. The tower was established to help guide vessels through the complex approaches to the port, likely warning them of shallow areas and other hazards associated with marshy coastlines. Its operational status has changed, and it is no longer active.
Why it matters: This light was important for ships navigating the northeast Strait of Hormuz, guiding them into the fishing port of Minab and helping them avoid marshland hazards.
