About Isla del Rosario Lighthouse
A square skeletal concrete tower stands 14 meters tall on a concrete pad at the extreme western end of the Islas del Rosario. It is painted with red and white horizontal bands. The light emits a white flash every 5 seconds, visible for 11.6 nautical miles. This automated light is operational and situated on a rocky reef. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This light warns mariners of the extensive rocky reef marking the western approaches to the Islas del Rosario, a reef that extends directly from its base.
