The İnce Burnu Lighthouse is a 10-meter-high, white, cylindrical concrete tower with a gallery. Its light is positioned 32 meters above sea level. Constructed and first illuminated in 1953, the light characteristic is a white flash every 10 seconds (Fl W 10s), detectable for a distance of 15.7 nautical miles. This structure is located on the northwest side of the Dardanelles entrance, about 15 kilometers southwest of Şarköy.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the İnce Burnu cape, a hazard at the Dardanelles entrance, providing navigation aid for vessels transiting the waterway that links the Aegean Sea to the Sea of Marmara.
