About Şile Limanı Lighthouse
Also known as: Şile Limanı (North Mole)
This concrete lighthouse, standing 8 meters tall with its focal plane at 13 meters, marks the end of the main breakwater for Şile harbor. The cylindrical tower is painted white with a single red horizontal band. It emits a red flash every three seconds, visible for 11.3 nautical miles. An earlier light at this position was documented in 2013. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns mariners of the breakwater's end, facilitating safe entry into Şile harbor. Its unique barbell shape also distinguishes the coastal landscape.
