About Hòn Nước Lighthouse
Hòn Nước Lighthouse, established in 1997, is a round cylindrical white concrete tower standing 22 meters tall. It features a lantern and gallery and emits a white light with a single flash every 5 seconds. The lighthouse is situated on a small islet near the port of Qui Nhon. This structure was built to improve maritime safety for vessels navigating the central Vietnamese coast. It remains an active aid to navigation, maintained by Vietnamese authorities.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns mariners of the headland and shoals near Qui Nhon, guiding vessels into and out of the harbor, supporting both fishing fleets and commercial shipping routes.
