This cylindrical stone lighthouse, standing 29 meters tall with a focal height of 68 meters, was constructed in 1834. It features a white stone tower with a lantern and gallery, attached to a one-story keeper's house. Located on an island about 3 kilometers east of Ermoúpolis, Síros, the structure emits a white flash every six seconds. Its geographic range is 21.2 nautical miles. The nearest port is Syros, located 1.3 kilometers away.
Why it matters: As the tallest lighthouse in Greece, its construction by French engineers for the Ottoman Empire represents significant historical engineering.
