Its light emitted a quick red flash every 46 seconds. The lighthouse marked the end of the longer pier at the former Dàlián oil terminal, located on the northeastern edge of the city. The structure was removed in 2009, coinciding with the disappearance of the pier and terminal due to land reclamation.
