Dàháozhōu (Huángpǔ Gǎng) West Side Range Rear Lighthouse

This 10-meter cylindrical brick tower stands on the western edge of Dàháo Island, near the port of Huangpu. Established to guide vessels departing the port of Guangzhou, it operates in conjunction with a front range light positioned on a shorter tower in the river. The lighthouse emits a white light that flashes every two seconds, with a one-second on, one-second off pattern. Its focal height is 10 meters, and it has a geographic range of 10.4 nautical miles. Access to this island location is restricted to boat transport.

Why it matters: This rear range light is essential for vessels navigating away from Guangzhou, providing critical directional guidance within a busy shipping channel.
