Built in 1915, this 19-meter tile-covered tower stands at the end of the west breakwater in Dalian, China. Its lantern room is painted red, and the structure itself has a red light. This lighthouse offers a geographic range of 12.9 nautical miles. In 1964, the tower underwent a significant transformation which included covering its exterior with tiles. It is situated near the Dagang port, approximately 1.7 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse's continuous red light serves as a navigational aid for vessels entering and exiting Dalian's port, a significant maritime hub.
