About Crawford Lighthouse
The Crawford Lighthouse is an 8-meter tall cylindrical fiberglass tower situated on the south bank of the Strait, near Primavera. Its white structure is distinguished by two red horizontal bands near the top. With a focal height of 15 meters, it emits a white flash every 5 seconds, visible for nearly 12 nautical miles. The lighthouse marks the southern side of the western entrance to the Primera Angostura. The site is open to visitors, although the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is significant for delineating the south side of the western entrance to the Primera Angostura, a narrow and critical navigational channel within the Strait.
