The Cāngxià lighthouse is a 8.5-meter tall, round, white concrete tower situated on the north side of the Ōujiāng estuary, across from the west end of Wēnzhōudǎo island. With a focal height of 11 meters, it projects a white light that flashes once every 6 seconds. This marker has a visibility range of 10.7 nautical miles. It is located near Yueqing city in China's Zhejiang region, with Wenzhou port situated 6.3 kilometers distant.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as a navigation aid for vessels entering or leaving the Ōujiāng estuary, especially near the west end of Wēnzhōudǎo island, facilitating safe passage in this active channel.
