The Chìnàjiāo Lighthouse, built in 2009, is an 8-meter tall concrete structure standing on a shoal 500 meters off the eastern point of Xiàméndǎo. Its hexagonal cylindrical tower, topped with a gallery, features white tiles with narrow red horizontal bands. The light emits a single white flash every 4 seconds from a focal height of 11 meters. It offers a geographic range of 10.7 nautical miles. Access to the site is permitted, but the tower itself is closed to the public. The nearest port is Xiamen, located 5.3 kilometers away.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks a shoal, warning vessels away from the hazard on the eastern approach to Xiàméndǎo.
