Chinese English Pinyin Dictionary Lighthouse

This cylindrical concrete tower, standing 12 meters tall, is painted black with a single yellow horizontal band. It features two galleries and emits a white flash every 10 seconds, visible for nearly 10 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated on a reef off the harbor of Xiánxiángzhèn, on the lower north side of Xiàngshān Bay. This bay extends for over 80 kilometers and is rarely wider than 10 kilometers, running along the north side of the Xiàngshān Peninsula. The structure is located approximately 50 kilometers southeast of downtown Níngbō, near the former ferry terminal and about 400 meters northeast of the new Xiàngshān Bay Bridge.

Why it matters: The lighthouse warns vessels about the reef off Xiánxiángzhèn harbor, which is essential for safe passage within Xiàngshān Bay's narrow confines.
