The Castilletes lighthouse is a square pyramidal steel skeletal tower standing 30 meters tall, painted with horizontal red and white bands. Its focal plane reaches 35 meters above sea level. The structure emits a white flash every 9 seconds, visible for 16.2 nautical miles. Located about 600 meters north of the Venezuelan border on the southeast side of the Guajira Peninsula, it is part of a strategically significant frontier zone. The site is open to the public, but visitors cannot access the tower itself.
