About Cabo Espiritu Santo Lighthouse
The Cabo Espiritu Santo lighthouse is located on the northeastern coast of Isla de Tierra del Fuego, within Chile's Magallanes Region. Its focal plane stands 70 meters above sea level, and it has a geographic range of 23 nautical miles. The light emits a white flash every 15 seconds. This structure was part of Chile's lighthouse network and was administered by the Chilean Navy. Although previously inhabited, the lighthouse is no longer operational.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marks the southern entrance to the Atlantic mouth of the Strait of Magellan.
