The structure stands on a headland marking the southern approach to the waterway. The nearest port is Ben Thuy, located 17.5 kilometers away.
Why it matters: The lighthouse warns mariners of the headland on the south side of the entrance to the Cửa Sót estuary, preventing groundings.
