About Battimalv Lighthouse
Battimalv Lighthouse, a white steel framework tower, was constructed and first lit in 1991. This square structure stands 46 meters tall, with its light positioned at a focal height of 20 meters. It exhibits four white flashes every 20 seconds, with a geographic range of 8 nautical miles. The lighthouse is located on the northern tip of Battimalv, a small, uninhabited island situated approximately 30 kilometers south of Car Nicobar. Although operational, the light was temporarily extinguished in 2013.
