Araklı North Breakwater Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Araklı North Breakwater Lighthouse
A cylindrical metal tower, standing 9 meters tall, marks the end of the Araklı North Breakwater. This structure, which became operational in 2020, displays a white exterior with a green horizontal band. Its light emits a single green flash every five seconds, visible for over 10 nautical miles. The current light replaced an earlier structure on the same site, updated as part of ongoing efforts to maintain modern navigational aids. The area around the breakwater is accessible to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: This light serves to guide vessels entering the port of Araklı by marking the extremity of the north breakwater, thereby preventing collisions with the structure.
