This Japanese harbor, established in 1900, is a sheltered section of the port of Kitakyushu. It handles general cargo and is equipped with tugs and a medium-sized drydock.
Background
Kokura was an ancient castle town in Japan and the center of the city of Kitakyushu, which is the second most populous city on the island of Kyushu, after the city of Fukuoka.
