Built in 1896, this hexagonal pyramidal lighthouse stands on a detached breakwater in Yokohama's inner harbor. The structure, standing 15 meters tall, is colored red and features a cast iron tower with a lantern and gallery atop a concrete base. This concrete base was added following the 1923 earthquake to enhance stability. The lighthouse emits an occulting red light on a 4-second cycle, providing 11.9 nautical miles of geographic range. Access to the site and tower is restricted to boat only.
