It was assigned to different locations throughout its service before being taken out of operation in 1973. The ship participated in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944, assisting with navigation. Following its sale for scrap, it was briefly adapted for office use, and an idea to make it a nightclub did not proceed. The lightship is currently situated on the west bank of the River Neath, 1.3 kilometers from Neath.
