About Termoli Lighthouse
The Termoli lighthouse, a square concrete skeletal tower with a lantern and gallery, was constructed and first lit in 1963. It stands 17 meters tall, with its light reaching a focal height of 41 meters. The structure is mounted on a one-story concrete equipment shelter. Exhibiting a white light with one flash every 10 seconds, it has a geographic range of 17.2 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated on the waterfront in the resort town of Termoli, at the foot of the Via Federico di Svevia. In 2011, the structure underwent restoration. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself remains closed.
Why it matters: This lighthouse guides vessels navigating the Adriatic Sea near the port of Termoli. Its design is similar to the Cattolica lighthouse, built a few years prior.
