Tanisaki Hana Lighthouse, built of concrete, is a white cylindrical tower with red trim standing 9.5 meters tall. Its light flashes white once every 5 seconds, visible for nearly 19 nautical miles. Located on a bluff near Yaku on the south shore of Yakushima, it first became operational in 1973. The lighthouse structure features a hexagonal cylindrical concrete tower with a gallery. While the site is open to visitors, the tower itself is closed to the public. The nearest port, Yudomari, is 4.3 kilometers away.
