Takami Kō lighthouse was built in 1977 and first lit the same year. It is a 9.5-meter concrete post that rises from a square, single-story equipment shelter, both painted white. This structure stands at the extremity of the main breakwater for Takami Shima harbor. The lighthouse emits a single green flash every 12 seconds. It has a geographic range of 11 nautical miles and a focal height of 12 meters above sea level. The site is open to the public, but the tower itself is closed.
