Constructed in 1981, this 10-meter tall, round, cylindrical concrete tower originates from a single-story structure and is topped by a large square enclosure. Its focal plane sits at 28 meters above sea level. Located at the extremity of the eastern section of Kesennuma Bay, the structure functions as a navigation aid for vessels approaching the port of Kesennuma, situated 2.1 kilometers distant. The light emits white, red, or green illumination with a maximum visibility of 14.9 nautical miles. Its flash pattern is designated as F W R G, indicating continuous white, red, or green flashes based on bearing.
