About Shirogane Saki Lighthouse
This white, cylindrical concrete tower stands 10 meters tall and was first lit in 1957. It is situated on a promontory approximately 4 kilometers south of Oshu Saki, as part of the same cape structure. The lighthouse emits a white flash every 13 seconds from a focal height of 38 meters, with a geographic range of 16.7 nautical miles. The current structure is a simple, round concrete tower, though earlier iterations featured a more complex design. Visitors can access the site, but the tower itself is closed to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse helps vessels safely navigate around the significant promontory south of Oshu Saki.
