About San Jerónimo Lighthouse
Also known as: San Jerónimo (Bonanza Range Rear)
The San Jerónimo Lighthouse is a cylindrical red brick tower built in 1897, standing 24 meters tall. Located on the Camino Colorado, it is situated 800 meters northeast of the Faro de Bonanza, near Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The structure features a round cylindrical brick tower with a gallery, though its lantern has been removed. It ceased operations in 1982 and has remained inactive since. Visitors can access the site, but the tower itself is closed to the public. The unpainted brick construction reflects the architectural style of lighthouses from its period.
Why it matters: This lighthouse serves as a historical marker of Spain's maritime infrastructure from the late 19th century.
