About Point Stephens Lighthouse
Constructed in 1862, the Point Stephens Lighthouse stands 21 meters tall with a focal height of 38 meters. Its white tower offers a geographic range of 17 nautical miles. The light emits a single white flash. Originally powered by kerosene, the light source underwent several upgrades, including a Dalén light in 1912, electric light in 1960, and automation in 1973. It was converted to solar power in 1990. The lighthouse features unique architectural elements for its era, including a flared base and combined keeper's cottages terrace.
