Oza Lighthouse
Location & Light Range
About Oza Lighthouse
Built in 1917, the Oza lighthouse is an octagonal stone tower situated on the flat roof of a single-story keeper's cottage. This structure is located off Avenida del Pasaje, south of the A Coruña port area. It served as the front light for the A Coruña harbor range between 1932 and 1955. The range was later abandoned due to port development, and the lighthouse became inactive in 1963. The port authority secured the building in 1997. While restoration proposals have been considered, the tower remains closed to the public, though the site is accessible.
Why it matters: The Oza lighthouse's integrated design and its function as a range light for over two decades contribute to its historical significance in A Coruña's maritime navigation.
